The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has infected and killed millions people worldwide. It substantially increased the burden on healthcare system. However, optimal approach to treatment COVID-19 is uncertain. “Off-label” use lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r) interferons, particularly interferon beta (IFN-β), were most suggested at early stage. Although United States National Institutes Health’s (NIH) guidelines do not recommend both medications for in hospitalized patients, their roles patients with non-severe disease are still unclear. Macau, a famous city tourism, had 46 confirmed cases as 2020. In this retrospective review, we summarized clinical laboratory features 39 admitted Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário (CHCSJ), whom all did receive oxygen therapy or ventilatory support during hospitalization. Of note, 12 (30.8%) them asymptomatic. common symptoms fever cough upon admission. They treated LPV/r ± IFN-β-1b plus supportive care. mean length hospitalization was 26.6 (SD 12.6) days monotherapy, whereas 27.8 10.1) LPV/r/IFN-β-1b combination (p=0.65). percentage 28-day negative results polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test 67.9% (19 28) monotherapy 63.6% (7 11) (p=0.80). No fatal case reported discharged successfully. beneficial outcome observed addition LPV/r-based therapy. Further studies warranted confirm these findings.
